Privacy policy
Your details should only go where you expect.
This policy explains the information EV Matchup handles when you compare vehicles, contact us or submit a dealership enquiry.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the EV Matchup website and its contact and enquiry features. EV Matchup is an Australian-focused comparison service. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean EV Matchup.
2. Information we collect
- Dealer enquiries: your name, phone number, message, selected EV, grade, state and dealership.
- Messages to EV Matchup: your name, email address, topic and message.
- Referral activity: the EV, grade, state and dealership connected with a phone or website click.
- Technical information: limited request information used for security, spam prevention and reliable operation.
You can browse and compare EVs without giving us your name, phone number or email address.
3. How we use information
We use submitted information to respond to messages, operate the requested enquiry workflow, prevent abuse, diagnose delivery problems and understand which vehicles and contact routes are useful to buyers.
The private reporting dashboard stores activity information such as model, grade, state, dealer, contact channel and delivery status. It does not store customer names, phone numbers or enquiry messages.
4. Who receives information
While an enquiry is labelled as test mode, its details are sent only to EV Matchup’s configured test inbox. They are not sent to the dealership selected on the form. If direct dealer delivery is introduced, the form will identify the intended recipient before you submit it and ask for your consent.
We use service providers for website hosting, authentication and email delivery. They process information only to provide those services. Some providers may process information outside Australia in countries where they or their infrastructure operate.
We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the security of the service, or with your permission. We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies and analytics
EV Matchup does not currently use advertising or third-party marketing analytics cookies. Essential platform technologies may be used for security, site access and the owner-only dashboard. If advertising or additional analytics are introduced, this policy and any required consent choices will be updated first.
6. Retention and security
Contact and test-enquiry emails are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, test the service, maintain records or meet legal obligations. We use access controls, secret server-side credentials, validation, rate limiting and spam checks to reduce misuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or raise a privacy concern through the EV Matchup contact page. Choose “Privacy request” so it can be handled appropriately.
Information about Australian privacy rights and complaints is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, contact workflow or legal requirements change. The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page.
